QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters degree or higher.
- Administrator’s Certification or enrolled in a certification program to meet state requirements for certification.
- Valid teaching certificate (five years successful teacher experience preferred).
- Experience as a high school principal preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership that results in teamwork and collaborative working relationships.
- Demonstrated leadership in the ability to communicate a clear vision and to work cooperatively with staff and colleagues to attain the vision.
- Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.
- Strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
- Experience with a diverse student and parent population.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Personal commitment to academic excellence with student achievement as a primary focus.
- Provide leadership for high school curriculum, instruction and assessment.
- Communicate the philosophy, goals and objectives of the high school program to the students, parents, staff members and to the community at large through various communication strategies.
- Provide leadership to meet and exceed state instruction standards, proficiency targets and school improvement goals.
- Implement strategies that work toward closing the achievement gap using research and evident based instruction.
- Evaluate and review the performance of instructional and support staff assigned to the school.
- Manage the high school budget.
- Provide leadership in the hiring of all high school staff.
- Work collaboratively with district and building administrators to support district initiatives and goals.
- Develop, communicate, plan, and provide leadership for all staff meetings, department meetings, PLC meetings and committee meetings.
- Create and maintain a safe environment for all students and staff.
- Communicate with the Superintendent regularly on the overall operations of the high school.
- Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent of the School District.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
In accordance with the current Team Management Association contract. Competitive salary including board-paid 403b contributions. Additional fringe benefits for this position include board-paid long-term disability insurance, transportation allowance, full-family health benefits, dental, vision and life insurances.
WORK YEAR: 260 days per year
